i have stripped and cleaned my winches, but dont know the best lubricant to use when re-assembling them. they are from an 1987 Gibsea, but have no markings on them. Any suggestions please. Thanks

Lewmar staff gave me a small tube of there winch grease and lots of valuable advice of how to strip them at RYA Cowes weekend in Oct. Might be worth giving them a ring and asking. There staff were pleasantly suprised because the winches looked new inside despite being 18 years old all thanks to the yachts previous owner.

Lewmar winch grease (sparingly) on bearings, a drop of sewing machine oil on pawls.
