I have a 12ft clinker built dinghy, that I have recently overhauled.

I completly stripped back to bear wood and replaced with six coats of varnish
Replaced all the rigging (running and standing) for new like for like
Added some floor boards (crude but does the job)
New bungs
New Wheels for the trailer

This is an old boat, which I know very little about in terms of history, and has been kept out of the water for some time, so would need to "take up" again.

I am looking to trade up and am thinking about selling. My question is really do you think this sort of thing would sell?

Comments very welcome as always.

Thanks in advance

A lovely wee boat. I'm sure someone will take a fancy to her although it might not happen overnight. It's difficult to guess what you should ask, but certainly a few hundred pounds. Value will depend to some extent on the quality and condition of eg sails, oars, outboard if any and so on.

Sorry I should probably have done this first..

Thanks

I suggest posting on the CVRDA website. Lot's of knowledgeable dinghy folk who may be able to give you an idea of the builder/make/value. I'd guess at around £500 depending (as previous poster) on overall condition, sails etc, etc. and how good your prep/varnishing is!

Good luck.

Couldn't see the stem from the photographs. Maybe a National 12 if the stem is straight - if so, there should be a number carved in her somewhere. Nice boat but don't get excited about the value. Couple of hundred - if you want/need to sell? Yes, it's the same with all old wooden boats. OF.
