I'm looking out over St Cat's now..can't see any pontoons but with the weather out there they would be sunk by now!!

Lot of weight in the gusts just now, gonna be lively at hw then .
And yesterday sailing was sun on blue water, 1 flattener reef and 6 rolls for comfort, t shirt and shorts, perfect midsummer. Oh well![]()
We are experiencing nasty gusts here at Haslar pushing me around a bit and I weigh 25 tons!
Not to worry as Hurricane CHRIS is heading NE, towards the UK and will be passing possibly sometime next week as a TS.

25 tons? You Fat Git - you need to cut down on those takeaways. We are experiencing nasty gusts here at Haslar pushing me around a bit and I weigh 25 tons!

The German yacht, ROEDE ORM, seems to be hove to, but on fringe of AIS range, and heading towards traffic lanes. Not a good place to be in these conditions.
My VION 4000 warned me by bleeping its alarm as it dropped over night from 1017mB very fast and was 1002.3mB at about 1900UTC this evening. It has now risen very fast to 1006.9mB and still rising?
Whether the low has passed over the top of my yacht is a matter of conjecture but the weather seems to have eased a little?
Showers, Clearing, Cool. Read black forecast.![]()
Yes I have been monitoring it, it seems to be drifting about at about 2 knots.
Its currently 10nm from Selsey lifeboat station, but the wind seems to have dropped off in the last couple of hours which should help matters
Storm is the new Gale. Have you not heard of quantitative easing?Gale.![]()
