I have kept my Moody 27 there since March and they have always been very helpful and friendly. The shop, loo's etc are fine also. It takes about 30mins to get out into the solent and is only 5mins from the M27. If you require any more detail I can PM you. Mel. (ps it's not very good for embarking pregnant women ;-)
I kept my boat there about 8 years back but I found the owner a bit "offish" and it appears that he has/had a bit of a reputation for blowing hot and cold.... However he also runs a very tight ship and the operation is excellent.
This year I moved back and am very happy to be there. Dinghy storage is good at the end of a long jetty with tenders in toast racks at the end. Various moorings, swingers,, trots,, trots with pontoons are all easy access.
Not a good one for winter storage. You're lucky to stick cigarette paper between the boats. Only a problem if you anticipate wanting to do some work on the outside. I have heard of people being 'told off' if you are not doing a job properly. i.e varnishing with the brush in the wrong direction. 'You do it or right or not in my boat yard'.
Colleague had a boat there till this season. Found the owner 'offish'.
I agree with the winter storage problem which is why I never kept my boat there for storage... owner was "offish" when I mentioned that I would be keeping it else where for the winter.. this was 8 years ago.
We keep our boat there in the winter - its an excellent yard, well run - the owner Chris Waddington is a bit frosty but dont worry about that - he knows what he is doing!
