If I delete a post does it still hang around, surely the point of deleting it is to free up the space. Or am I missing something?

You have just blocked up more space and caused me too, so why are you concerned /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif I take space very seriously and limit my messages to accuracy and brevity, but others ramble on a bit.

Because if you post something in the middle of a long thread, and people reply to it, and then you delete it with no record, it's going to make for a pretty confusing thread.
If it is marked deleted as now, people can work out what's happened
