Why would youi not want to sail here

Judging by your photo, you'd suffer from terrible altitude sickness

Yes lots plus the reflection off the snow, what's not to like :)

Since it's one of the least populated areas in Europe, could be a good place to holiday this summer.

Unsurprisingly, someone has already tried to cash in on this. £100 per person per night, minimum one month stay, paid in full up front. Gets you a little self catering cottage on Skye and the offer of provisions (at extra cost) delivered to the door step. Fortunately this blatant opportunism has been thoroughly derided in the media! We shouldn't be encouraging unnecessary travel, or inviting people to come up here and strain the fragile supply chain, or impose extra burdens on the other infrastructure. And I say this as someone who runs a holiday cottage and stands to lose tens of thousands in bookings this year- the bulk of my income, in fact.

Have done, for many years, when I was inclined to ventured south as well as the even better cruising ground that was only 170 miles or so to my east - that is the west coast of Norway

However, have now found a group of islands that have autonomy from their nearest neighbour, are 10 degrees C warmer all year round and no midges.
