Whose up the Ore/Alde then?

Adventurers are thinking of claiming the River Ore/Alde for Her Sovereign Majesty next weekend.

Any tips on anchorages or moorings, and where's the decent pub and restaurant these days?

Orford is good. Tides run quick though. Good food from the smokery there as well. Keep meaning to visit the National Trust site. Next time.....

read as meat stew + toupe, the first time they "see" each other is when they emearge from the dinger /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

Love to come but my daughter is getting married on Saturday.
We always anchor up at the north end of havergate Island although you cant land there, it is peaceful.The Lady Florence's mooring bouy is there but nearly always plenty of space. You could also try Abrahams bosum which is just accross from the Butley River. There is limited Anchorages up the Butley.

Further up the Ore/Ald on the approaches to Orford there are plenty of mooring bouys and past orford on the approaches to Aldbourgh plenty of mooring bouys.
As said Previously,plenty of tidal flow so good ground tackle needed but well worth a visit. The entrance can be a bit scary, download the Ore and Ald sketch map from eastcoastrivers.com.
