Who moors there boat in Spain?

Just another idea, at San Carles marina there is a big lagoon outside so if the sea is too rough/too windy you can always go boating.
About 50 miles south of Alicante there is the Mar Menor, an Inland sea. It's about 12 miles long by 6 miles wide, accessed through a short channel out into the med.

Great place to build up your boaty skills in very benign waters and it never gets rough even in very high winds. There are four or five marinas there too. Have a look on Google.

I always fly as I am still working. Door to door for us is 1007 miles by road. Via Michelin suggests £130 in tolls each way.

We now travel with barely any hand luggage as everything is left on board, and the marina is pretty secure.. but berth holders do look out for one another, and there are 1 or 2 Guardianage firms. The one we use washes the cockpit, dusts etc downstairs and puts aircon on for us in advance of arrival, so we can turn the key and go...

We try and go out in March, and shut her down in October. Not sure about 3 (but answer is “highly likely”) but we use a Vodafone dongle, and I can work using that.

Jumping on a few planes to do your research is half the fun... but as others have said ICC for 10m+ and VHF qualifications are a must... as is air-con in the hot months...

Ive sat the VHF exam and ive done the Powerboat Level 2, is that all i need, what does ICC stand for?

sounds great, yes i will

Boating season in Spain is all year if you want. In the winter months the sea is often flat as a pancake, great for doing longer trips. March and April it often rains.
this pick was taken in February this year, had to wear a jumper though ;-)

OMG it looks stunning!

International Certificate of Competence. I did a mix and match with my eldest son on our own boat. He did his day skipper practical and over the 2 weekends he did that I did my ICC. Cost around £220 per day on own boat, a lot more if you do it on the schools boat....

If you let the forum know what your recce plans are (if any) there are usually offers from owners in the vicinity to show you around. In fact there is one such road trip recce being undertaken in mid Sept that I know of.
