What ever happened to large ships using kites? They were going to be the future
None of these systems are really the future. It's all just creative engineering startup companies taking advantage of the green agenda to get funding. The scale is impressive because the theoretical cost savings are huge in the long term but they all come with lots of downsides which the testing phase exposes. Which is why these devices haven't been fitted to every cargo vessel on the high seas already. But it's all good in the long run as one of these systems may turn out to be a winner which would be great. What ever happened to large ships using kites? They were going to be the future
Not all new techs disappear. Bulbous bows are pretty much universal now, box carriers are putting windshields on the bow, LNG engines are a thing... Not all creative start-up engineering companies fail.None of these systems are really the future. May be we should be looking at an old technology.None of these systems are really the future. It's all just creative engineering startup companies taking advantage of the green agenda to get funding. Hence my last sentence. Not all new techs disappear. Bulbous bows are pretty much universal now, box carriers are putting windshields on the bow, LNG engines are a thing... Not all creative start-up engineering companies fail.
