The lock was opened at 1100. 48 hours after the collar broke for a job that I was told by many EA staff should have taken 2 hrs at the most.
Good to see that there were 2 senior managers at the lock helping boaters through! No doubt expecting to take the plaudits for fixing such a complex problem. One of them, evidently "the harbourmaster" (Mike someone?) was running up and down the lock grabbing lines and "organising" everybody - comical to watch.
And I pay £850 a year to that bloody useless outfit.

Can’t say I noticed, I saw two relief lockies and a guy I hadn’t seen before who hadn’t had time to change out of his motorcycle gear. They seemed to be doing a good job of clearing boats when we came through about midday
