Hi
Due to the design of my boat I tend to prefer mooring /going along side on my port side, as I find it easier and safer. So what Propeller should i fit when replacing the outdrive, left or right hand, and why????
Will it really make any difference ???

Simple answer if it works ,don,t fix it,but the direction of the prop depends on the rotation of the engine(although you can reverse it on the outdrive),there is a theory mentioned on lanson,s post that its to stop single proped boat,s leaning due to prop torque.ie the relationship bbetweenthe direction of the prop and the helm posistion.

Wouldn't think it would make much difference once your used to it, whichever was chosen.

Since RH is the 'default', best to stick to that I would have thought, so spares are more 'off the shelf'.

And of course make sure both the leg and prop are the same at least!

Shouldn't make any difference as you can tuck your stern in using a burst of reverse while pointing the drive to port, this has far more effect than any "paddle wheel" from the prop.

For mooring port side, RH prop makes your life (slightly) easier.
But when you leave your mooring, then it's the other way round.
On a single outdrive boat, I'd rather consider a duoprop, if manouvering is your major concern...
...and you don't mind a somewhat higher cost.
