Whilst I've got the engine in bits doing some nec. maintenance, I think now would be a good time to change the engine oil aswell.
Can I use an oil from the Motor Factor shop, or should I use one reccomended by Mercury/Quicksilver?
4.3Ltr Mercruiser V6 Petrol.
Thanx in advance Dave

When I asked Perkins about my engine and oil the guy in the tech' dept told me to use ordinary 15w/40 that I put in my car, just use a quality one not crap. When asked about special additives for sea going he couldn't stop laughing then told me it was just oil company selling points and doesn't really amount to anything. I've been using 'normal' engine oil for years and never had any problems but I do change my oil and filters to start and end the season and once in the middle.
