Which is the one they say can be eaten and defecated by elephants?
This is always a worry to me when sailing.
I've got the white canvas Tilley hat and I don't care what I look like.
It keeps the sun and the rain off and is one of the few sun hats I can wear and shoot with, every other (sun) hat gets knocked off as soon as I shoot a vertical image.

I only had a H.O.B. drill once and couldn't find it.I love my tilley hat and it has given me plenty of chances to practise M.O.B drill, or I should say H.O.B. drill
The new models are ghastly anyway, really naff.![]()
My recent replacement (on their 50% "insurance" scheme) is ok, but I preferred the wording in my original one (satisfactorily verdigrised and faintly diesel-smelling, but now sadly too small).

We have a selection of hats liberated from the oggin and beach - its a kind of sport, extra points if they have an embroidered boat name so we can claim a ransome. Only caps and a Panama though, no Tilley's - maybe that says something?
Ahh!
First of all wash in lukewarm water, not hot. Hot water shrinks natural fibres.
...then the trick is to stretch them into shape immediately you wash them, and then dry, that's why.
