About five years ago I,(and almost everyone in the area,) bought raffle tickets. First prize was the honour of pressing the plunger to demolish these now redundant towers.........We woz robbed !
 
Richborough power station. Was coal-fired, built to use the output from the now-closed Kent coalfield.
Being slowly demolished (we reckon there's one man and a boy working on it). Some years ago there was a local raffle to press the tit and blow up the cooling towers, but the idea was dropped and there they remain (a useful landmark).
Cables from the Thanet windfarm (construction underway) being brought ashore here.
I'm sure there's more I could tell you if I think about it...
