Just paid for an annual subscription to Norway Marine Charts for £39.99

Money taken by Playstore but not showing in my subscriptions and cannot load charts.

I am however unable to buy it again. Is there some kind of time delay?

I hate Garmin.

Didn't you pay via the Navionics Boating app itself ?
Yes, I did. Google took the money according to my bank.

The weird thing is the app is now stuck in a loop. If I try to downloaf the maps it says I need to buy the subscription. If I try to buy the subscription it just minimises the app and takes me back to the basemap.

Kinda scuppers the Norway plans if I have no charts.

I hate Garmin.

I had an issue with the Navionics app on my android phone a couple of years ago. I was advised to open the apps section in the settings on my phone, scroll to navionics, open, go to storage, at the bottom delete cache and delete data. Reopen the navionics app, log in and hopefully problem solved.

Will that not delete all my downloaded charts, tracks etc. for my other (active, working) subscription?

Surely you are not going into these rocky waters with just one device with charts on it?
We bought the sets of paper charts (I think NV) plus had Navionics on the ships plotter and NV on the iPad.
Relying on any single device seems a bit ambitious.

If of use, even as a backup, Norway makes its charts available free to download if it helps - though not necessarily easy to use.

As said previously, personally I found the Cruising Association information invaluable for these waters - including lots of up to date information on things like the arrival and departure processes from people who are doing this.
Have you got the online harbour guide subscription, for example - essential.

We have Navionics on two phones and a tablet, plus the Judy Lomax pilot. Last time (15 years ago) I had only OpenCPN on a laptop and survived.

I suspect my cruising budget is very different from yours. Norwegian paper charts are exorbitant and the folios cover very small areas.

I have the same problem on an iPad. It works on my iPhone though (where I renewed). This is the answer Navionics gave me:

"Thank you for contacting Garmin Navionics.

This depends on the App version on your tablet.

You currently have version 18.0.3, only from version 20.0 the new subscriptions are supported.

Please update the App, then you should see the subscriptions also on your tablet:

Navionics Boating: Updating Your Charts and App"

If you are referring to the Navionics charts for the APP ... I believe no - as they are not saved separately outside of the app's software itself. No longer have the charts been saved to another data location ... they are encrypted into the program itself.

I can clear cache - cookies - all sorts with cleaner apps and Navionics Boating still works fine with all downloaded charts.

The app is up to date on my phone, but apparently the version on the tablet needed updating. Once I did that all was well.

So you don't hate Garmin now, you hate yourself ? ;)

No, I hate Garmin. I originally bought and installed the app on my phone, I kept the app updated on the phone and I bought the new subscription via the app on the phone.

The result was a mysterious loop where I was repeatedly asked to buy a subscription but was not able to do so. No explanation was proferred.

Why a secondary installation on a different device should have caused this defies logic.

I hate Garmin. They have buggered up both Navionics and InReach.

You wanna get to grips with Active Captain then !! There are times you lose all grip on life ... suicide appears the easy way out ! Garmin must have had one hell of a party before putting that together ...

I have the same problem with one android device and have yet to find out how to break the loop.

They forgot to add the sentence :

"and with the latest version, we can remove all expired previous purchases from your device so you'll have to buy them again if you want that region".
