Where's Greenpeace when you need them?

Who is feeding him

Diet would be easy as he cannot get out of bed .. So who is feeding him 3 Sunday Lunches Etc .. Ipswich PCT is using a 5 ton ambulance to move him ..
If he is that large and cannot move why do they keep feeding him .. A job is what he needs to take his mind off food .. What a boring existance .. IMHO

This poor man has an serious illness. If he was anorexic and starving himself to death we would all perhaps have more sympathy. Equally, if he had a physical illness we would consider that very sad. :( As it is, unfortunately, we live in a society that is rife with prejudices.

In this case i am led to belive he was " Aided & Abetted" as he was unable to do anything for himself ;)

Well of course he has an illness. I don't think anyone here thinks it is self inflicted through gluttony or greed or that there is any prejudice (eating disorders are too close to home). But it is extreme and therefore is bound attract some comments and non-malicious humour.

This looks like another one that has slipped through the net of the health service and social services - this man had a problem 40 stones ago! Someone must have known and yet he is left to get in this sorry state before he needs specialist help

Mrs Full Circle has to deal with these people day on day, and has a special catalogue of equipment and training to assist. There are indeed a wide variety of potential causes for this illness, and in almost all cases, it must be aided and abetted, beyond about 30 stone.
Over 35 stone, the sores caused by normal secretions and toiletting become an issue.
Over 40 stone, it becomes an issue to move from room to room.
Above that (and there are quiote a few locally) you need to remove door frames and have a special team just to get them out to hospital.

To get some scale in this, imagine 1960 packs of Anchor Butter piled up in a heap. Its takes prodigious application and persistence to reach that stage.

He may indeed have a serious illness I do not know the details of the case but the fact remains that if he ate a balanced diet of lower 'energy' value than he expended then he would loose weight. Clearly he hasn't as his weight has been going up.

I knew those 3 years studing nutrition to get an honour degree weren't wasted! :D Don't think I was ever suited to practice though!
