I've no idea if this is difficult or easy so I'll give a clue. I was standing on a bridge between two pubs.
Folly bridge?
Assuming it's on the Thames and by the width then above Oxford, the obvious place would be Newbridge with the Rose Revived on one side of the bridge and the Maybush Inn on the other, but it doesn't look like it to me - and I was there only a few weeks ago!

It's been a while since you were there then? Maybe in 19th century it may have looked similar to that, but the boats give it away!
