On October 1st we will go to The Caribbean or Florida to buy a boat suitable for a Pacific Crossing. Where do we find the best market for "circumnavigator monohulls" in this area?

Thnak you very much in advance

Why buy a boat on the atlantic coast to a Pacific crossing. Why not buy it on the pacific coast?
But Re your question -
Make for the less famous sailing areas.

I can pass on the details of a reliable broker in Florida.

I found it best to put together a short list of boats I wanted to see before going out, and then looking to see what else they have in the yard when I get out there.
Be aware that in general US boat buying procedures are different from ours and and that they vary from state to state.
Have been involved in several purchases out there so happy to help in any way. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Friends of mine bought a large cat in Trinidad, at a very good price. A lot of boats sit out the Hurricane season down there, and thats where they lie. Some owners just want to get rid, often to clear yard bills. Its also a good place for you to fit out as all services are availalble and costs are a lot cheaper than further north.
