Actually I've done three trips out of marinas on the Clyde and don't think I've met a Scottish boatowner at any of them. Bit like Brixham and no Devonians.

No. Not speaking to you, but your the only one on this page!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Think If I had the choice of Hull or Liverpool, I'd be boatless. Seems infinatly beter to drive for and other hour or two, than sit waiting till 3am when the tide comes in. Then course sit outside in wind and storm till some other stupid hour, to get back in again.!!

You are correct about lack of Scottish owners - the "English" have invaded again and taken almost all the marina berths but as most cannot come every weekend we "residents" have the place much to ourselves.

I think that if I lived from Manchester and Leeds northwards I'd base my boat on the Clyde. Pity you won't do the same /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Would alleviate Plymouth's smog problem "at a stroke".

I quite agree. I left my last boat in Troon after a long holiday from north wales up to Tobermory on Mull. The idea being to sail from there and discover more of the wonders of the west coast of scotland. Unfortunatly the boat got sold three weeks latter. I looked for another in scotland, but was ammazed how much they wanted for crap. Found Mucky in Dartmouth, so been down the south west ever since. Do keep wondering about taking her to troon though!!
