Where is this, and when was it taken

Taken from the road above the Jolly Sailor at Burseldon.

Edit - could almost be taken from half way up the lift that takes the beer down to the pub.

I cant date it, not more than 20 years I'd have thought, that large yacht with the blue topsides could be Valhalla the swan ketch, but that berth has had a mobo in for about 8 years that I know of.

Yup, Burseldon. I'd guess 1976, going by the livery of one of the johnson outboards. The big mobo, hatteras or something, probably gives a date clue but I don't have time/inclination to google into that. So, my tenner is on 1976.

I think it's a bit later than 1988 because in Moodys marina there's a Turbo 36 with the later radar arch which Fairline only produced from 1989 onwards so I'll go for 1990

Obviously I was wasting my breath with my first post. There is a Fairline Turbo 36 in the pic with the later post '89 radar arch. The big aft cabin motorboat in the foreground is a late '80's Histar or Hershine and there is also a late '80's Princess in the background too. So it cannot be '78 or '81. Have another guess

Hmm, there are 2 turbo 36s, a prin 35 like HLB's (far end of the right hand fairway, not in a proper berth), and a Prin like Clive's. Plus the hatteras-esque number. So perhaps 1991

Early guess was based on similar owned sailing boats in foreground along with photo quality, not clued up on the progression of motorboat styles at all... (which is now obviously apparent!) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
