We are alongside the far wall, every time I have been there someone has tied up to the pontoons, then discovered there is a 10ft gap to dry land, the electric points fool them & they are not connected either.
The pontoons are slowly breaking apart, where they join there is broken concrete & steel reinforcement sticking out.
Anything big going across the mouth of the bay sends a swell into frikes about 20 mins later, the pontoons tip up to 45 degrees.
I have used them as a tieback for long lines, stay at least 5m off them.
Got a bollocking off a pro italian skipper for being alongside the wall, when i could have gone stern to & left him lots of space for his big yacht & guests.
I tried to explain why we were alongside & got more armwaving & a little abuse.
He then went stern to behind us, couple of foot away, lines everywhere, after 2 hours of dragging & trying to reset his anchor on the rocky bottom, he upped hook & motored somewhere else, looking a little embarrassed.
With 100% cetainty, that's Frikes (which incidentally, when translated into English, means 'Freaky'. The reason it's called that is because of the wind that blows through there in the afternoons)
