It appears the Kimmatollah has decided to remove Matt's post.

I hope he has dealt with the threatening PM sender using the same strong hand.

It always happens when I go away...

...I'm just turning my attention to that now. If the notification had come as we always ask (ie privately in cases of abuse of these facilities) then it would have been dealt with a lot sooner.

Meanwhile, can I please remind everyone to take a long hard look at the Ts and Cs (all of them) including the ones about abuse of users and use of unnecessary language.

There's been far too much naval fluff gazing going on around here of late - I hope Easter is sunny and you all get out to blow the winter cobwebs away (and come back with some useful stuff...about motorboats would be nice).

It seems like everyone (except me) involved with the "pulled" thread has gone off into a huddle somewhere to thrash it out.
Perhap's it's time for a referendum (poll?) via the moderaters to find out which which words people find really offensive and make rulings as per majority vote? I'm sure 99% of forumites on here don't mean any offence by the words they use in any given context.

Kim

Is there a "Inform moderator" button on here. if there is I can't find it.

I've been here three years now and its been like this every year at this time. Cabin Fever?

I agree lets have some boaty threads - I just hope mine aren't relating to broken outdrives and cowboy repairers this year. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Totally agree.

I'll be on the water on Saturday outside the Barmy Arms in Twickenham. If anyone is in the area (for the Calcutta Cup?), please come past for a drink.

Apart from that the party pre- and post-match at the Barmy is brilliant.

Big non-event I'm afraid, for onlookers. Chrischevy has gone off to protect his fluttering delicate daughter lilteenskipper. Careful research has estblished she is based in south wales, and aged er almost sixteen. I expect she has smashed his face in by now, or possibly left home or got married....

Sorry kim - i didn't feel the need to raise the issue with you. Seemed a better (initial) way of dealing with it in your apparent absence - and it stopped.

btw, Brilliant moderation (seriously) at the right moment the other night with the gludy thread imho - just as everyone agreed to leave it - but it might have got worse - the thread was locked...

Listen!
I work all week and look forward to using and working on my boat whenever I can, there is more to life than being stuck in front of a PC all day, all night and every weekend, and not even getting paid for it, critisiceing peoples comments, rubbishing personal ideas, getting personal and snooping on an individuals family, making stories up too look MATCHO e.g. weather, editing emails to have people pity them, (that’s so sad ) and getting so-called local accurate information
( wrong )
Therefore to save those sad individuals who fit that profile, getting their pocket sized Rambo to follow my daughters around Swansea marina any more let me save them the hassle
the facts. :-
I have two girls & two boys, let me do a quick check to see if any of them are 16 years of age
1. littleteen is 14 not 16 however you are not far off what’s 2 years, just ask gone fishing or did you
already ? ( another wrong fact ), good at this aren’t they
2. child no2 Boy 23 can’t be him then
3. child no3 Girl 23 sorry can’t be her either
last chance
4. child no 4 dam Boy again this one is even older he is 25
So where is this mystical 16 year old, I cant find her, I don’t know which chump out of the gang found this info out, Hang on there is a pattern forming here
can you see it, remember the thread about wind speed when they recorded a force 10, they were not that far out with the age of my daughter, so maybe they got muddled a little with the date year and place say
Kent in 87 they had a hurricane that year perhaps it
was this they mean.
Wisely Kim removed that controversial thread,
I missed it dam, I had better things to as an adult.

/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifI propose that Kim starts an under 16s forum for these sad few individuals to feel at home with their abuse and useless comments with kids their own age, this will then free up the people who are genuinely interested in boating using the forum for what it was designed for,
Sharing civil & constructive comments ideas & experiences freely without fear of abuse

I agree that we should let bygones be bygones, and I'm delighted to see that from the constructive and concilatory tone of your post, the issue obviously hasn't unduly annoyed you.

This is news to me. Many forums I run or subscribe to have the option to use email read and post, but was totally unaware that you could post here by email - can you describe how you did it, as I was unaware that facility was available
