Some of you may know that I was looking for a last minute sailing holiday last week. Well, I found one and it was fantastic. I'm back now and wish I was still there. But, where was it?

No. No passport required!
Also there was plenty of wind but that picture was taken on Tuesday morning when it was dead calm though we sailed later that day and just to prove it ...

Well, Tuesday on Scotland's west coast was a rather fine, although we managed to spoil it for Silkie who very kindly spent a couple of hours driving us from Balvicar to the chandlery at Ardfern.

I feel that I should know the places in both pics, they look awfy familiar, but.............. The first one's not taken from the east end of Loch na Dromabuidhe by any chance?

YES!
I have discovered the West coast of Scotland and what a beautiful place it is too ... sorry, am I supposed to keep quiet about that?

BTW - ended up at Ardfern on Friday.
2nd pic is south side of Ulva

As a No Boat Person.
Answer Me this.
Does this lack of Ownership bother.
Obviously One has just Rented, Chartered, Hired or whatever.
Explored a bit of the West Coast of Scotland, nice picies, by the way.
The Question is.
Is this the way to go?
Stuff owning One.
Charter instead?
Yep I know it's nice to own a Boat and go and fettle and moider, chew the fat, pontificate and sit on Her and make a cuppa and Dream of passages and chat to fellow Mariners and all that there. Yer kow what I mean!
How is it been, without that Scene?

I'm pleased you enjoyed it. We may have passed each other on the Friday. We'd been anchored at Eilean Dubh Mor/Beag alongside Seaboots, Forumite of this Parish, in Tango, his MacWester 27. We went our separate ways close to noon on the Friday.

I want my own boat. In the meantime chartering (and skippered charter as in this case) will do fine. It's not cheap but cheaper than owning any size of boat.
I'm aware that boats cost a lot of money and I can be a bit of a 'nine day wonder' victim but I still want my own boat. The sooner the better.

Nup, you've got me with the T25 project pic. The background looks a bit like the north westish side of Jura, but....... I give up. I'm shocked and surprised that DaveS, Aja, Claymore, Silkie etc huvnae identified it yet.

It's a great cruising area. We might go back out later this week.

Sorry guys - you'll have to wait till I get home. My work doesn't like me looking at pictures hosted on photobucket and the like. All I get is the ubiquitous wee red cross.

I will see it later though.....

Would the 2nd. picture be Bunnahabhain? It all looks right, but I can't quite recall if that's the correct wreck or not.
