When is a Rodman not a Rodman?

Princess and Fairline not so much IMO, the Olsenski hull is a bit a follow up IMO to a David Napier design ie. 80s Bertrams as is the legendary 54.
For Princess and Fairline find one with small b/platform from the nineties removes that fiberglass settee, and put some boxes. Which is fairly easy considering they have a lazarette aft.
Maritimo has just recently launched a 440 Offshore Converible.

How does doing that fit in with the requirement of being able to have a dealership for a range of models ?

Are you suggesting the company Tom works for goes out and buys all the old 90's Princess and Fairlines and converts them into a range of "new" sports fishers ?

You don't seem to have got the point of the OP.

Was not the original point to buy a 40ft something boat with flybridge suited for fishing similar to Rodmans 1250, and to make use of it for a fishing charter.
The dealership question came later, that if the marquee is not taken he would consider it.
Or did I miss something.

Post #25 clearly set out the requirements and post #32 confirmed the requirement for a dealership to sell a range of said boats.

Converted 90's gin palaces don't fulfil that requirement lol

Probably too different ...

Yes I know that the said 90s GIN Palaces dont confirm that requirement. But since everything presented to the OP is difficult to sell IMO he should consider it.

Everything is always a compromise, but the angling part of the deal is only a tiny part in fairness.
The Rodman ticked the boxes in almost every way as it could code for corporate and angling charter and would be easy to teach on. The dealership is very well run by Ben Stevens at RBS Marine and whilst we don't know each other well I consider Ben a friend and have a lot of respect for him and his business.
(That said, I'd scratch his eyes out to be the importer! :-) )
I've actually spoken with Ben about working as a sub dealer for him, but that has it's own complications and the margins are rather tight to allow you to give the customer a great deal, but also offer them the very best level of service....

Oooooh I've gone back and had another look at those Deltas... They are rather special, but not really fishing boats and not really corporate charter boats, but it would do both rather amazingly well... But, half a mill for a 40 footer??? I think I can see a trip to Sweden coming on for a little go.

Tom

PS: Just had a play in something very different, t'other end of the scale actually.
C-fury catamaran ribs. 4m, 30knots from a 40Hp, INCREDIBLY economical, INCREDIBLY stable almost no slamming on a stiff short chop in the harbour and far neater handling than a mono rib. What a lot of fun!

Fountain, Luhrs, Hatteras, Tiara, Sea-swirl, Topaz, Rampage, Lochin (do they have a dealer?), Vicem, SB Marin (Minor).

You could probably make a pretty good fisher from a Hunton without too much mods.
