I have 2 attached to the rear edge of the cockpit. What the hell are they??

Soft landing pads for petrels. Always installed in pairs on opposite sides of the boat so there's always one on the high side.

I don't think the rubber grommets pop out. They are a very hard rubber. I think they are to protect something.... but what?! It's really bugging me

From the scratches around the rubber protrusions, it looks as if something engages with it, something to do with a previous canopy?

Could it be a "soft bump stop" for something that folds down to meet it (part of the radar arch that moves) ?

Maybe - the boat has never had a cockpit canopy used (I have the original unused canopy on the boat!), and it's nothing to do with that. Maybe supports for some kind of cockpit shade thing, but there's nothing captive on the fittings.

Bracket bases for removable rod holders .?

I suppose they could be fishing related - fishing's not my thing, but the boat does have 2 big rod holders set into the coaming, on each side of the cockpit (you can see one on the port side), and 2 holders on the rear FB rail, so the previous owner must have been into fishing.
