What's this, off Seaton, Devon?

Anyone know what this is. Came across it spring last year a mile or so south of Seaton?

Experimental wave power generator. Generates power due to relative motion of parts along the "snake", rather than relying on a seabed tether.

That's my guess anyway.

And the buoy is an "isolated danger" mark.

Could it be a danger mark marking the remains of the MSC Napoil, which was grounded off Branscombe, near Beer Head? that was about a mile off the coast.

The seaward end of Tesco's gravel pipeline? If so I don't know why all their equipment wasn't removed- perhaps they are intending to make further use of it?

Is that why the Seaton Coast Road has collapsed this weekend!

I doubt that road will ever be reinstated, its not the first cliff fall there and sooner or later some of the houses on Old Beer Rd will end up with no road access
