I agree....that’s a lot of money for what are often homemade aluminum boats...surprised that they didn’t just fabricate a mount themselves

From the photos I found online, it's not even clear to me that the universal mount would be needed on this boat. Maybe the angle in OP's pic is deceptive, but I think this mount is an optional extra, needed for boats with a sloped transom.

If you google "Watt & Sea generator mounting" and look at the pics, you'll see many installations without this part.

Perhaps it’s stronger than the standard mount - we found the standard one couldn’t cope with regularly hitting Saragossa weed at 8-9 knots and aft a few attempts to refit eventually had to abandon and remove it.
