It's big and quite heavy duty - I was thinking some sort of trolling spool reel slots into it, for deep water trolling. Or perhaps a bait table?

The guy that owned the boat before me was mad about fishing (boat has a live bait well, saltwater deck rinse, 16 rod holders)

Is it in line with the water...or is there a swim platform under it....because I was wondering about a trolling motor....or even if it’s a rudder stock....so the boat can be steered from the transom while the engine is in gear slowly trolling

Good point. That’s the best suggestion so far as far as I’m concerned. We’ve got one very similar on our stern.

I considered this too, there is a platform under it though. I think passarelle pivot is the answer, to be honest.
