We left Uk with what we thought we needed and have changed as time has gone on. The port aft cabing is now the store room with all the 'stuff' that we acummulated over the past 3 years, things we didn't realise we needed until we found we hadn't got it; sewing machine, jigsaw, orbital sander, folding bikes - the list goes ever on. But we have now reached the stage where if we need something more, then we have to decide what of the current stuff will have to go to make room for it:eek:

What do we miss? Very little. I like an occassional bath, which is difficult to achieve. Not sure what SWMBO misses apart from being close to the kids and grandkids.

We had two laptops with DVD players, a CD player, scrabble and then when you meet lots of American boats the the must buy game is Mexican Train dominoes, its a brilliant strategy game.

Been there done that! The next stage, which is to avoided at all costs, is to hire a container at €100 per month. Our bridges are well and truely burnt. The boat is full, the container is 1/2 full.

What do we miss. Not a bath, I have a shower on my rare visits to a house. Garden, no we have the biggest water park in the world. The kids and grand kids, yes certainly. Washing machine, yes we have a small 3.5 kg Candy, plumbed into the pressure system. I have all the tools I need and if I fall out with the neighbours, I can always move.

On my Vega I use a netbook for TV/DVDs/Internet/Back up Navigation. There's room for 8 sails, full dive kit inc. tank, travel guitar, 2 radiators, all my clothes, quite a few books, space for storing food, extra water & fuel and the boat is not cluttered. But I'm naturally organised, clean and tidy. If you're not you could end up with a boat full of junk with nowhere to sit down unless you move a pile of it somewhere else! Just removed sea toilet and fitted a porta potti so can use toilet in marina now and it's no bother using marina showers/laundry. No reason why you can't have a reasonable sized flat screen tv, many do...
