What\'s a GPSMAP 225 worth second hand?

Hi folks,

This may not be the best place to ask, but I guess you'll be quick enough to point me in the right direction in any case ;-)

I have a one year old, very little used, Garmin 225 colour plotter (£840ish new) complete with a data cartridge for the south-east of England and northern Europe (£220ish new) that I just don't need any more.

Does anyone have any idea what I should be asking for it? It's in mint condition, with original boxes, and I'll supply a new mounting kit and antenna for it (to avoid leaving holes in the boat for the new owner!).

Any ideas?

TIA,
Steve Lock.

Re: nothing?

unfortunately there's no buying or selling allowed around here. However, the despatch department of the idiot transport company set up on this BB tell me that they are quite heavy, so sending it anywhere would cost about £350 quid ;-)

Re: Revised offer (form not substance)

Oooeer yes sorry Steve, made a mistake. What I meant was I will offer you nothing for your Garmin and invite you to donate it to me for nuffink. I will however reimburse your postage and shipping costs, say £350 should cover it.

Re: splitting the plotter and navionics chip

If Duncan buys the Cartridge, my £350 offer stands, for the unit with no nav cartridge.

Re: splitting the plotter and navionics chip

If jfm's buying the unit, any chance I can just borrow it for the first two weeks of Aug? We're normally river based but are booked on the MBY cruise to Zeeland and till we decide if we like "real boating", can't really see the point of investing in too much hi tec stuff.

Re: No problem Colin you\'re welcome....

...to borrow it if my postage and packing offer "wins" this auction. Bids are flying in thick and fast now, edge of seat stuff......

Hey PS did you get that exe to work?

Re: And I need to know too

Well I didn't get an eMail let alone any idea of the cartridge....................
imagine the reaction to a note such as 'Good home wanted for XS2000, unwanted birthday present, £40,000 secures'
