I can’t seem to find the year this outboard motor was made. Can anyone help?

It reads mariner 40e 6E9 L 407626

You should be able to find it in the Brunswick Marine in EMEA Download centre. (With luck you may also find the owners manual)

The " L " has thrown me but 40EL 6E9-407626 would be a late 1982 model. (Presumably the "L" is for longshaft)
