£10K.... Yeah i'd have to say I would consider holding on to it for a long while to see what happened, to see if it was funny money, if nothing happened i'd get it all changed through some means or another.

Then i'd spend.

If it turnded out to some old dear getting forgetfull and walking around with her life savings i'd make sure it went back to her in a bank account where it should be!!

There seems to have been a number of reported cases of money-in-phone-box type events over the past few years. It almost has to be funny-munny. On that basis, I would keep it for a while until things cool off and then start treating my boat to inordinate quantities of fuel - cash, of course!

Boring and honest - but hand it in to the police and hope the time limit for claiming it expires and that you can then keep it - legally!

Re: Damn!

Do you have a number for the police station? I think that may have been mine. I left a bag somewhere the other week. The money I lost had pictures of the Queen on it - do you know if the stuff they found was the same?

Hand it in to the police - certainly. But I would make sure it was a police station about 100 miles away from where I found it! Wait for the appropriate time limit, then claim it. Not breaking the law - just bending it a little!! About time the law did something for me.

Yeah, its OK until the print rubs off and and you find some serious looking met types on your doorstep asking difficult questions!
