A British Waterways lock key - on a 14 foot wide Catamaran - I don't think we would fit !

Must say that if I sell my boat out here - new owner may just find a key to the loo's for Newport Town Quay IoW !! and a number of part used electricity cards same quay !

Sorry to ask - but where did the water come from let alone the sawdust ?

[/ QUOTE ]

There was a leak from the drain of the anchor locker into the forecabin. Ok usually, but with the bow taking it green we collected 40 gallons or so over about 4 hours. The sawdust obviously hadn't been cleaned out during the fitting out of the new boat. When we realised that the water was coming up round the floorboards we turned on the electric bilge pump; when that had no effect we tried the manual pump; when that didn't work the floorboards came up and we used the bucket. "There's no better bilge pump than a frightened man with a bucket" and the same applies to fire extinguishers!

And you found the sawdust of concern?

Did taking 40 gallons seem normal?

Should I be throwing the odd bucket of oggin into the bilges in order to keep up this norm?

The thread is about things found on the boat on taking over. The sawdust was there, the water came later. Mind you, the water came before we actually found the sawdust.

Not on the current boat, but on a 20ft sailing boat (a Signet?) I bought some years ago, a selection of ladies underwear....in a tool bag! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

An oyster knife, and crab/lobster utensils. Iron, and ironing board. A long white pole with what sounds like a spring inside, but no openings or attachments- still don't know what it's for.

I found what looked like a sun brolly folded up, but never investigated any further until last trip, where it turned out to be one of those breeze booster canopies to fit over a hatch.
Still not worked out exactly how to attach it, might just tell the nephews that it is a kite and see them try and fly it.

Mystery solved! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That looks similar to the part cockpit sole I had where gear lever came up. The gearbox was proud of the sole and needed a larger gap at front of board.

Not quite, but you got me in the cockpit with it and I discovered that it is an abandoned cockpit table. So DogWatch is correct - it's wood. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

How about this one?

The interior dimensions are 14" x 10" x 6" (36 x 25 x 15 cm).
The holes in the bottom are 1.5" in diameter, 10.5" and 7.25" apart O.C., and offset by one inch.
The holes in the sides are 0.5" in diameter, and 3.5" above the bottom.
All the edges are well rounded.

Ok, I'll be the one to ask you (and nimbusgb and 00Si00) the question:

Did you keep them?
