Ideas please. Clearly the wind going to vanish by midday on Saturday so we'll all be bobbing about trying to get past the Needles by 11am, b4 the tide stuffs one. So, I'm going to get stuck into that blocked valve on the head. It's bubbling nicely. Bottle of Scotch to the first volunteer!

in silly mode now......
- clean anchor chain 1 link at a time with a toothbrush
- trip to top of mast to replace masthead light "just in case"
- dust down sextant and practice sunsights
- bake some bread "just in case"
- join Seastart "just in case"
- combine test auto-inflate of lifejackets with practice MOB i.e. go for a swim (untethered)
- start Solent Whale & Dolphin survey
- do dipstick-style radio check with Solent CG (JOKE!!!)

Sorry, nothing constructive, uselsss at this time of night!

Well that should guarantee a Fastnet type gale. Suggest you check the liferaft, and start composing your survival story for the next issue of YM.
