What size trailer winch?

For a 1000kg boat.

Existing built in winch is dead so getting one to bolt on.
Do we think webbing or wire?

I use a webbing one on my Medina (900kg) and it seems right. It's comfortable to handle which I can't imagine wire would be.

I would presume you want wire when you need to get a longer length onto the drum.
