what silicone to use for fixing a transducer in hull??

Interesting thread. New to boats and getting my Microplus 501 Explorer ready for launch at our local marina. Surveyor told me to get a depth sounder so opted for Nasa brand after advice on this forum. Looking at options for mounting and wondered if to get an in hull kit - would that be OK for a Microplus 501? Or do I have to go outer hull? Please be gentle with the novice...unsure if the material of the boat build is suitable for in hull..

Inhull is fine ................ just make sure you pick an area that is clear and always in water ... on mobo's usually near aft or even an external L bracket on transom.

To find best place ... take large bit of Blue Tack .... switch it all on ... and then use the Blue Tack to hold the transducer to hull while you test results .. move it around till you get best ...
Clean up the hull and then resin a plastic tube in place for the transducer ( you can buy the In-Hull kit or domestic water pipe with end cap to mount the item ......)
