What on earth is this?

Certainly not a Valiant 18.

I don't think many 18ft boats have standing headroom.

It's scrap and the Shoreham port authority is trying to get someone to pay for the pleasure of taking it away.

Thought it might be that Turkish blokes boat but that was 16' and ended up in Poole I think.

Is it a home made one? - although, for an 18ft, it would be nice to be able to stand up..

Does anyone know anything about this?

It is a Dockrell, and I am certain that it is a 22ft, as I am not sure Dockrell made an 18ft - they did make a 17ft, but it was no more than an open dinghy.

I had a 22ft one as our first boat. It even had the Dockrell hatch - as shown on the boat. Our boat had a Petter Mini 6 diesel engine, was "triple keel" in that the centre keel was a swing-keel, and the two outside keels were bilge-keels. Called "Monterey", and I believe it is still at Falmouth.

See this Dockrell Owners site - http://www.dockrell.com/
