What is the current trend for deck colour?

Has anyone tried Kiwigrip? Will most likely do mine this winter and would much prefer something closer to white than the options shown above (apparently the go is to put in a bit of grey into majority white so that it's not brilliant white).

My boat came with the typical 70's blue non-slip. Seller gave me a small pot of International Blue Deck paint for patching ..

That went off and dumped. Basically because I don't like paints that build layers year after year. So I have used exterior house wall paint ... Sandtex or similar.

I can have literally any colour / shade I like mixed ... I get about 5x the amount for my money .. brushes wash out with water ... dries to very good non-slip ... AND over the season - the paint wears away and is easily recoated without building up excess layers. I have never needed to add any granules to it .. its matt finish is kind to the barefeet etc. When mixed - you get the Colour Code - so a new batch can be mixed to same ..

Blue may be old world ... but I still like it.

Its worth also noting that YBW did a test at a Boat Show - Deck Paint brands vs Sandtex ... they had boards painted and laid so people walked over them ..... guess which came out with a good score - not #1 ... but when the score was also added to pricing ... yep Sandtex got the thumbs up.

I have used Premier deck paint in the past but found the aggregate in it a bit coarse, it was difficult to get an even finish ?
 
Ok, I'm going to bite the anchor and go for grey.....I will upload a pic once done in a week or so and if it looks rubbish then at least I can blame the posters on here :)
 
Almost everything new has been grey for several years. Even life jackets ! the number of grey stealth cars rolling down the motorway is amazing. I wonder just how many people were influenced into it by 50 shades of grey!
Hopefully a new trend will start soon and you can lead the way with something more cheerful
 
Grey now definitely in.

Lawrence Llewelln Bowen (old Changing Rooms guru) has just been ordered to paint all the woodwork on an extension to his Cotswold manor house in a very specific shade of Dulux grey - not even Farrow and Ball.
 
Top part done today, used Premier paints anti-slip deck paint. Rollered on thin coat first and thicker second coat to get even coverage, it dries fast in this heat so you have to work fast.
Shark skin gray colour, so far happy with the result will do the rest next week. I hope gray stays in vogue for a while :-)
