A couple of webbing straps fitted to the seat.??I have an old Ribeye, the rib came without a seat/thwart. I’d like to make a seat. The boat has these fittings for a seat, can anyone point me towards the corresponding parts to attach the seat?View attachment 164536
Was the end that hooked onto the tube something like this? Albeit obviously integral to the seat in the case of yours.I used to have a 3m Ribtec which had exactly the same fittings. The thwart seat was made of folded aluminium plate.
If you imagine a shallow box, upside down so the large flat was uppermost to sit upon, with the port and starboard ends having an angle of about 45 degrees tapered towards the bottom. You would deflate the tubes a little, hook the angled ends of the seat over the aluminium fittings shown in your photo, then pump the tubes back up. It was remarkably stable and secure once in place.
