I am fond of our tradition of flag etiquette, but on the whole we don't seem to be very flag-aware compared to many European countries. Something I enjoyed seeing in Sweden, and sometimes Denmark, was the sight of so many private houses flying the national flag in the form of a narrow banner, something that livens up many streets and villages.
