i have stumbled upon the trusty t23, thel look well built & rufty tufty little boats, a nice simple yanmar motor, no turbo or cam beltto worry aboutwhen offshore, the listing i have found are silly expensive, im not yet in a position to proceed as i must get back driving first, my first thought monthsgo was the beneteau antaries 760 a vessel that is well evolvedwith good accomodation, muconcern isbeing used to sail with back up auxilary nannidieselis i distrust cambelt / turbo offshore, i have never experenced a car cambelt issue in the past 40 yrs, always changed as specm

i do like the cockpit sole &saloon sole on the A760 being on same level &the bathing platform access, that appeales as mymobilityisnt yet anything like normalbut my typing has impoved:love:
Yes, your typing has definitely improved, well done. I am biased, as i have one, but the Antares 760, being a semi-displacement boat, is much better in a seaway. If you are only ever going out in settled weather then the Trusty 23 will be OK. Neither of them have a cambelt. Yes, turbos can have problems but in my experience they always fail-safe, you may lose a percentage of power, but I have never known one to cause the engine to stop, my VP TAMD41-p is 25 years old, original, and no problems in the 10 years of my ownership.

We did out PB2 on an Antares 760, great little boat and was of a similar size as to what had at that time, though the Antares was a lot faster than our Placom 750. We had the Antares out in f6 decreasing to f5 winds and she handled that with aplomb, even my wife enjoyed it.

You are certainly welcome here in Belgium :)

A great objective. Don't wait until you are driving again, just choose a marina close to a railway station 😁
train = kit not really an option

Oostend was my 2nd home always there for the OVA weekend, that is a brilliant festival, the best was the stoom boats whistles

Fabulous little boat I think. Not fast, obviously, but not everyone wants to go fast. Plenty of sailboat people spend their whole lives pottering around at those speeds or lower. MBY did a used boat review on these years ago (just found the accompanying video), might be worth getting hold of a copy of it.
