What do you have aboard to amuse yourself whilst at anchor?

Used to be a variety of females but more recently just the one. When she's not onboard then there's always something that needs cleaning/tweaking/changing/servicing so I'm never bored.
 
Alcohol... beer, wine, rum, malt..and so on...

Books of course, as at the moment I just don't feel like reading an electronic book they don't seem to have the cosy factor with them, I may be wrong but...

Oh, please, tell me how you do THAT!? We are doing this "first year" thing this year and my best half is very keen snooker and pool player, I do worry sometimes how will he manage without his Thursday matches, so if you can do it please tell us how?:)
 
Not at anchor yet

That is because we set off in Sptember...

But when we are sitting somewhere of the edge of nowhere.... I am looking forward to reading the latest post from Nostrodamus ...... Even if he is putting a book together I wil enjoy answering his questions if can... Or simply adding my take on the issues he raises...

Last night was the first night we spent as a family at anchor.
We are in Cederia and intend to stay at anchor for a few days.
The bay is sheltered and the views are stunning.
After spending an hour making sure we weren't moving then we settled down, had a fabulous night of talking a playing games (currently trying to learn backgammon) and the best nights sleep I have had in weeks. No squeaky ropes or fenders, didn't hear the fishing fleet leave and best of all it's free.
I am a very lucky man.

Careful, you could get bitten by the anchoring bug! We can't bear the thought of tying up anywhere and always head for an anchorage, much more peaceful. It's well over a year since we last tied up.

We anchored in Cedeira last September. Fortunately for us, we had glorious weather and a decent sail the following day to Ria Ares (another lovely anchorage).

Whilst in Cedeira we came across a very pro-active chap who was wizzing about in his dinghy distributing leaflets promoting his marine business to all the boats at anchor.

We often found when we were anchored in the Rias, that our sleep was disturbed by voices in the early hours of the morning! A quick peep outside revealed that we were surrounded by small boats! It was just local chaps out in their little day boats, fishing lines in hand, having a chat!
 
I would love to get one of those sit on top Kayaks..
and explore all those nooks and crannies.

Have seen people use them to get their shopping..

Also good way of keeping fit..

Gather they are expensive though... :(
