Besides the other half what do you have aboard to amuse yourself whilst at anchor?
It seems a lot of people read and a kindle is becoming the "must have" accesory.
I know we have two guitars and a yukalalee and others also carry something musical to play or at least try to play.

We have the usual cards, chess, backgammon.

What do you use to amuse yourself whilst at anchor?

We have pretty much what you would find in the average house without kids (scaled down of course!) except the TV. We spend all year at anchor, we get through a lot of books, play a lot cards, Rummikub, chess etc, watch the occasional dvd if the wind is blowing and producing excess electricity, surf the internet, swim, fish, hunt (with a spear gun), talk, sleep, create lovely things in the galley, maintain the boat etc etc. Looking at that list how did we ever find time to work!

I find it's the sailing that is a distraction from the full time maintenance!
But we do have wine and music and a large galley plus DVD's for the evenings.
I may even read but books are heavy, and so far I'm the only member of my family who is without Kindle! The ham radio occupies some time!
However "forward planning" otherwise known as daydreaming is a constant occupation.
In fact my next boat will be called "BayDreamer".

How comes when we were in a house I could work ridiculous hours, look after the wife and family and still have time to socialise.
Now we are on a boat there is not enough hours in the day.
I am sure someone has shortened the days by half without telling me. No doubt another EEC directive that I don't know or care about.
