Re: political correctness

A clever poem, racist though it may be. I think most immigrants want a better life and would rather have work than be on the welfare. Tell me you wouldnt try the same sort of thing if the roles were reversed.
Be thankful you live in a country that others find so desirable in spite of the climate.

Re: political correctness

I am with chippie on this one. What would i do under the same circumstances.
How long ago was it MTB that your relatives landed, possibly only 100 yrs or so ago.We are All immigrants on this island.Would you like me to send you a form to fill in on how to get on to the list to stand for your local council or mybe become an MP or do you just want to whinge and let others make the effort.
As regards the countryside march they cannot insulate themselves from the rest of the world, it is changing.Every one else over the years (miners/steelworkers/shipbuilders/solictors etc/ has had to face the future so why not the countryside.Just because your family farmed in the same place for 300 yrs does not mean you can go on forever.Ask some of the people in industry who lost their livelyhoods.2% of the countries wealth is created by agriculture. They no longer hold the whip hand in demanding more special treatment and rightly so. IMHO

Just hold tight dear it will not be so rough when we get round the corner, trust me.

Re: political correctness

Well actually my great grand daddy was a sea captain
So my family has been here longer than a 100 years.
As for becoming an MP , no ta once my boys are able to stand on their own two feet I dought I'll be in this place.
Cos there's a lot to see and do, I'd like to see India Africa and so on .
I'm not as you would assume a racialist and enjoy finding out about other cultures but what I object to is having to be force fed with it .
Or others saying its not right to object .
I take your point about winging , but I do it so well !!

I live in rural Lincolnshire and see first hand how so called farmers use a small plot of land to claim cash , they tell you there's no money !!! yeah right I cant afford a new four wheel drive .

Re: political correctness

Your are very probably right. I would do anything and everything I could if the roles were reversed. Read between the lines though and you'll see what makes this country so desirable. Its not a poke at the immigrants themselves persee(sp). More a dig at the government and the system!!!

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!

Ooohh, more than likely, but you'll have to belong to a minority group to get anything. Just one other thing whats a "snotta Broom"?

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!

If you can imagine an old galleon in full sail well a Broom is a bit bit like that except it is the vast quantity of net curtains not the sails that billow. No crows nest just a trailer tent perched on top.

You weren't the same masked robber who stormed into the Sperm Bank?

He went up to the girl and screamed "OPEN THE SAFE! OPEN THE SAFE!"
The girl calmly replied "But Sir, this isn't a normal bank, it's a Sperm Bank."
"SHUT UP AND OPEN THE SAFE!" he says
"NOW OPEN ONE OF THE TEST TUBES AND DRINK IT" he screams
"DO IT AGAIN, DRINK ANOTHER!"
The girl was then totally shocked when the man removed his ski-mask and she discovered that it was her husband.
"NOW THAT WASN'T VERY DIFFICULT, WAS IT?" /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

U-boaters used to sink Atlantic convoys but are resigned these days to standby for a call from the war cabinet to let off a few cruise misssiles upon some dictatorship in the middle east.
