Agree 100% - provided that one has a natural aptitude for good D-I-Y work and is not endowed with ten thumbs.

The Sailrite site has loads of information and ideas that encourage and inspire. I would add a good book about the art of sailmaking: it helps to understand what to aim for rather than slavishly following a set of instructions. A bit like cooking really; it just requires some flair.

Having strip replaced and thought a color would be the way to go but wanted white. My rationale for color was so one could see if the white sail was completely covered, however based on thread, its gonna be white.
