I've a bit of a soft spot for Colregs threads but, just between you and me, I could live without all of the rest, particularly since I've recently come to see Jimi in a completely different light. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I love it all!

With regard to Posts which are "just jokes you have heard before"

When I started in press photography I helpfully pointed out the editor that the story he was publishing was common knowledge and 'old news'. He without resorting to violence pointed out that his readers may not have such a firm grip on topical events and that "it's news if you haven't heard it before".

Not having learned I, later in life, helpfully pointed out to a Sales Director of a mail-order catalogue I did loads of work for that the gizmo I had just photographed for him, whilst a good gadget, was available at B&Q for less. He patiently explained that his customers would not be likely to shop at B&Q, which is why they were his customers.

none of the above because when I'm not in the mood for reading threads I don't read threads - and I'm also rarely in the mood for making threads or replying to them

My excuse now is that there is a plumber in the house and I'll get less wound up being here than watching him and the job he should have finished 5 weeks ago

Bought one of them, broke first time. And just where do you get so much space to change the oil filter. I usely end up with bloody knuckles. Your picture is misleading. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Versatile grip ....

Agree .... they are good idea - but the chain job is better ....

I was advised that they work on awkward sited stern glands .... where you cannot get a spanner in the tiny space ... Well please come and show me then ... cause all I got was covered in grease and sh....te when I tried it .... It did not work.

Nice one - but forget real tight stuff ....

A few years ago I started to buy a new mag, "Family Handy Man" as it had a lot about renovations which I was and still am doing Lucky me. After a while something started to bother me. I wrote a letter to the editor.

In the same issue was a story about a husband and wife building a deck. Here is two pics, take a close look.

My response was very much tounge in cheek, but something along theise line. Wow, every mans dream, a woman who can use BOTH hands. If I wanted to read makebelieve, I would read my wifes mags. I rather see real people then models. Well my reply was never published. I hope you can se the funny side to it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Versatile grip ....

I have one of those gadgets on the boat. I have a chain one at home. Of course, when it comes to doing the job, neither is to be found. I have found my leather belt and a mole-wrench do the job on my engine. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
