What a palaver ... trailered out the Primor 24

Collected new trailer today .....

Looking fwd to various outings on lakes / rivers here now.

It has the pivoting rear entry rollers to help boat align as well as all side rollers instead of keel rollers as on my other trailer.
That’s a beauty of a trailer......in fact it would be a shame to put your old boat on it....time for boat shopping 👍👍👍

I once bought a new trailer....but my boat (18 ft Sea Ray bow rider) was on its old trailer in the garage. I put the new trailer in front of the old one and connected the winch of the new one to the boat.....then as I winched...I kept chopping off the front of the old trailer with an angle grinder....slowly winching, slowly nibbling away at the old trailer...it worked fine

The old trailer will have a busy life looking after my other smaller boats .....

It was such a relief to have new trailer and boat just started on and lined herself up a treat ... OK - she's a couple of cms to one side ... but compared to the old trailer .... WOW.

We were bit surprised by the effort to get her to roll on ... we took it in shifts to operate the winch ... its sort of 'medium' gear ratio - unlike the old trailer which has high and low speed .... also it has no 'pawl or clutch' .... to release - you have to really push hard on the handle and it clicks and starts to unwind by use of handle ... no freewheeling.

Considering to swap for electric winch.

Engineer agreed time ... Thursday 10 April .... I tow the boat on trailer to him ...

Jobs :

Replace starter with the new one I have - and check Ring Gear

Modify Cooling water intake so I can close off intake - open another feed from my anti-freeze bucket.

Remove - clean - service Outdrive lifting mechanism

From him - I will then tow on trailer to Boat yard where boat will be measured up and get a new canopy.

Once Home - I plan to give her a coat of paint to spruce up the tired look.
