What a nightmare I found one of very few gulley's

I think most of us have found similar !!

My infamous event was getting back to berth at Hayling ... the channel near the pontoons was soft mud and shifted about ... usually I was OK and scraped in ... but one time - channel was just a bit off from normal and I ended up waiting rise of tide !

Looks like Red Wharf bay. We used to moor their regularly when we had a Cobra 850. Nice place to moor but when the tide comes in it comes in pretty fast. Nice sailing club there.

Wow, when we moored there in the early 90,s the channel pretty well dried and there was no gully to speak of. There used to be a horrendous gully just off Gallows Point, Beaumaris level with the sailing club house. I narrowly missed this once and the gully was so deep that the boat, a twin keel would have fallen right on its side and filled with water and lost had we settled one keel in it.
