7 May - Helford (8th in St Mary's if weather OK)

21 May - Lezardrieux

Any comments or suggestions?

Are we looking at a long weekend here? Can I have a tow behind your boat please.

I suppose it depends on the weather as to the destination . At present I'm pretty flexible and would be happy with either destination, though do like Lesardrieux. I'll have to work on SWMBO or try and get a babysitter for the weekend.

Where is everybody else starting from?

it seems there are those who want to come to the west for a rally and those from here who want to meet in france.

my thought was to do an itinerary like plymouth - fowey- helford - scilly - falmouth - plymouth and invite anyone from the forum to meet us along the way. for the cross-channel trip i suggested lezardrieux as being wide enough for us to get in and having no tidal barrier so people can arrive when they like.

i don't propose to book restaurants etc. one of the worst aspects of rallies is pressure to follow an itinerary in unsuitable weather.

the proposed dates are before the main season to avoid overcrowding but if they clash with events in those ports i'm sure someone will tell me.

If the weather's half reasonable, I'm up for it. They ran the new engine for the first time today and I cant wait to get back in the water now and give it all a try.

Happy with either option, never been further west than Fowey so both have an appeal.

Regards

John

It gives us a target refit completion date, and in the water for !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be interesting, as yet we have not had the sails up on this yacht, Fowey or Plymouth would give us a shake down trip.

Hello you elder statesmen of the water, caught up with this thread a bit late. Can a nipper from Falmouth with a rag-less yoghout-pot join in as well? Only been at it year and a half and haven't even been to the Scillies yet let alone cross-channel. Mind if you will let me come with you big boys, probably need me shirt tuckin' in and sox pullin' up every so often.

All sorted, new bottom, new gel coat, very pleased and eager to try it all out. Going back in early March so I guess it wont be too long on after Christmas! Looking forward to a visit to the boat show as well, missed last year.

Well if you make it to Scilly I can join in for the day, but alas still without a go further boat must keep saving and keep looking. I have our little run about so can perhaps do a bit of water taxiing but not making firm promises here I don't want to be stuck on the water ferrying people back to boats all night when I would also rather be in the pub!!! maybe just during the day would be o.k.

Well im up for it, would be nice to put some faces to names..

As to the venue, would probably join you in Plymouth if the weather is okay !.....
And work my down the coast with you, if not my preference would be the River Fal or Helford.

Anyway what-ever is decided, look forward to meeting you..

regards mike
