West Country haul-out

Hi,

Anyone care to recommend a good value haul-out location for a 50ft boat on the North coast of Devon or Cornwall?

Cost and security are the most important factors!

Forget the idea of picking through all the possibilities for the best 'cost and security' offered. This is pretty well a yacht free zone, and I only know of two possible yards, one at Padstow, one at Appledore, neither accustomed to yachts.
The real question is, why did you come to decide on this area, when you obviously know S.. all about it? Now on the South Devon/ Cornish coast, there you are in with a chance.

Boat sinking faster than usual across Bristol Channel on route from Belfast to Poole. Thought we'd better look for a haul-out around Padstow and - as you so rightly attest - I know sod all about the area, hence the post. Fortunately, the list of possibilities is slightly longer than you suggest!

Sorry for my bad tempered and unhelpful post. I hope you sort your problems out successfully. Try to be in Padstow for Mayday, it is the nearest thing to a spanish Fiesta held in this country! With fair winds I shall be there as well.

No worries. Actually I am likely to be in Padstow around then. Tatty-looking Barnett class lifeboat conversion on drying berth against the North harbour wall - 'Causeway Gleaner'. Come and say hello if the wind blows the right way!
